Here is my review of Griffin by S M West.
Blurb:
After one electrifying kiss, I’ll risk everything to protect Cora Jennings.
I don’t know why I care about her; she’s a stranger.
But something in her striking green eyes draws me in.
She’s caught in a web of secrets and lies.
A ruthless killer hunts her.
He’ll stop at nothing to have her.
And neither will I.
Together, on the run, our connection grows stronger.
I’m not a man who falls easily.
Yet Cora has me on my knees.
We’re opposites in every way.
Evil always finds me.
I’m a dangerous man and wrote off love long ago.
Still, my darkness craves her sunshine.
I’m no white knight, but Cora makes me want to be one. [Amazon]
My Review:
Wow, what a suspenseful, action-packed story. Lots of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. “Justice through the legal system isn’t perfect by any stretch, but it’s all we’ve got, and it’s better than nothing.”
Cora was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Now she’s on the run after witnessing a murder. Then she turns to a stranger for help. “Griffin. Is he a good Samaritan or part of this?” Why was he at The Mill? She has no choice but to trust him at this point.
Griffin just happened to be in the right place. He’s sitting in the back of the bar watching people come and go. “With each step, she shrinks, shoulders rounding, chin burrowing into her chest, deliberately hiding her face under the bill of the cap.” This woman is in trouble and his protective instincts kick in.
