Here is my review of The Bullies Between Us by M.E. McAndrews.
My Review:
CONTENT WARNING: This book contains scenes of graphic violence, sexual activity, attempted rape, and psychological abuse which may be offensive to some readers.
This is a new author for me. The story is well-written with suspense and a lot of twists and turns. “Like the saying goes, if you love something, set it free. So I did”. You won’t believe the turn of events at the end. It blew me away.
Justin and Clara had big dreams. They would go to college, get married and he would open up a garage. Then one day she was gone. No goodbye, no explanation, nothing. “It’s been ten empty years since she shattered my dream”. I finally found her sister on social media. She had posted that Clara was getting married. “What am I doing here? I shouldn’t even be going to this wedding. I wasn’t invited. But I just have to see her one last time. The woman who owns my heart”.
Clara loved her sister. “I owe her everything. She’s the reason I have a college degree, a job, a roof over my head, food on the table, and a place to rest my head at night. But living with her is not easy”. She blames me for everything. Now she wants me to marry someone I hardly know. She has got to be kidding, right? “I step back, shocked. How can she be so cold, so mean? She’s supposed to be there for me. To help me”.
