Review of Press’ Passion by Heather Slade

Here is my review of Press’ Passion by Heather Slade.

A cyber intelligent Brit with a soft side for the innocent.
A rescued MBA student with goals and dreams.
This winemaker is willing to help—one WICKED way or another.

Women swoon at my British accent, but I’ve been in America most of my life, hacking computers by day, and saving innocent women by night. A regular superhero. When I start getting close to Luisa, I want all disguises off. She’s falling for someone else, but I’m determined to wait it out—start a full court PRESS to make her mine.

Focus, heal, and grow—those are my goals. After enduring the unthinkable, it’s time, time for me, time for my future. But when my walls start crumbling, it’s him who starts to pick them back up, making me see my potential. My truth. My life. [Amazon]

My Review:

A well-written romantic suspense. Throw in kidnapping and human trafficking and you have a nail-biting story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. “Los Caballeros was a secret society dating back to our grandfathers’ grandfathers who only met when necessary”.

Luisa had gone to Jorge’s house even though she didn’t want to. “I’m experimenting with a new margarita recipe, he said, handing me a glass after he’d put on the action flick I predicted he would”. “What did you put in this? I asked a few minutes later when my head began to throb and I had trouble focusing on the television screen”. Then everything went black.

Press and a few friends belonged to a secret society dating back to his great-grandfather’s day. Noah had called an emergency meeting. “Seraphina Reeve’s younger sister, Luisa, is missing”. Each member of Los Caballeros brought with him a specific skill set. “What I discovered less than forty-eight hours later was worse than I could have imagined. Jorge, real name Manual Varilla, was a Mexican national on the FBI’s wanted list for human trafficking”.
